re: Project Pete. what type & size screws are used to fix the H3 75 x 35 frame to the metal posts ?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @keegs19. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fixing timber to a steel post.
It sounds like you might have seen a project by Pete and are looking for advice. If you can link us to that post, then it would provide some context.
Typically when connecting timber to steel we use Buildex 12-14 x 50mm Climaseal Hex Head Hi-Grip With Seal Roofing Tek Screws. You'll need to predrill the timber with a 4mm drillbit and then the screw will self-drive into metal.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

thanks Mitchell 👌 Yes, it was Project Pete's. I'm not good with this tech stuff 😞. So I assume then the 35 mm side (75 x35 H3 ) screwed flat to metal post ? Thanks 👍
That's it @keegs19. The 50mm screw will penetrate 15mm through the wall of the post providing plenty of grip. Depending on what the timber will hold, you'll likely need to use multiple screws to attach it securely.
