Hi there. I am trying to find out what size washer and O rings this outside would take. I can’t take the washer etc to Bunnings because it’s for my Mum and she lives in the country. So need parts before going out to fix it. It’s leaking from the spindle and the spout. Thanks.

Hello @Nic4
Welcome to the Bunning Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your garden tap.
I suggest bringing along a FIX-A-TAP 13mm 1/2" Nylon Tap Valve Repair Kit - 4 Pack or similar and your choice of tap washers if you are looking to change that as well. The O rings in the packet are standard and should fit your existing garden tap. I recommend having a quick look at this guide - How to replace a tap washer. The replacement steps are applicable to your garden tap. My best advice is to place the new O rings in first before you apply the O ring grease. Make sure to put a lot of grease for easy turning and it will also prevent the O rings from being torn apart.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks for your reply Eric. I will follow your advice and see how I go.
Hi @Nic4,
I'll need to confirm with my colleague @EricL, but outside taps typically take a slightly larger tap valve than the 13mm. I'd suggest that you grab the FIX-A-TAP 15mm 5/8" Soft Turn Tap Valve Repair Kit—2 Pack instead. There are different tap sizes in each state, so it might be worth picking up a 13mm and a 15mm kit. I think it's likely to be the 15mm kit you need, though.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Mitchell. That sounds right. This is exactly what was confusing me because I was looking at all the you tube videos and most were saying 15mm. Some others were saying 20mm. Then Eric said 13mm. So you don’t think I would need a 20mm. If not I will pick up 13 and 15 mm kits.
Cheers
20mm is generally for a mains tap at the front of the property, @Nic4. If it's a big trip to the local Bunnings, you could pick up a 20mm just to be safe and return it next time, but I don't believe I've ever encountered a 20mm valve in a standard outdoor tap.
