How to fix gap between pergola and house roof?

Hiya - we recently moved into a house with a backyard alfresco area. Its great in summer, but started to learn during winter that it doesn’t really provide any shelter as the rain just blows through the gaps between the pergola roof and the house roof as there’s a gap of up to 0.5m. Any recommendations on how to close the gap? Just more roof sheeting?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your pergola.

It's great that you've received excellent advice from @AlanM52. My recommendation falls along the same lines, perhaps maybe add a lightweight timber frame to support the polycarbonate roofing. My best advice is to use a clear product so that sunlight still shines through the gap.

My idea also follows along similar lines to @AlanM52 's

Tho Im choosing the slanted timbers to mount that polycarbonite sheeting that @EricL mentions. It will kick back following that angle and at the base you install some right angled flashing so when the rain is driven it hits the poly and then down to the right angle and into the gutter.

Brutus 150 x 50mm x 3m Jazz Building Moulding Flashing with the short angle facing up, long angle finishing over your gutter.
