My husband takes apart both ends of the hose and fiddles with attachments; consequently the hose now dribbles and I want to pressure clean some rocks which are black. There is a pump which is working!

Would it be possible for you to post a photo of your dribbling hose? This will give our members a chance to assess the condition of the hose, we can then offer recommendations on how to fix the leak.
