How to fix loose Pebblecrete?

Hi all, we have a small backyard with crushed stone flooring (not sure if this is the right term) installed by the developer. However, the bits and pieces keep falling off and make it difficult and painful to walk on. We are currently not utilising our backyard much because of this reason.

Is there a way we can put a layer ‘glue’ on it so the small stones don’t fall off?

The material you have is likely pebblecrete, which is held together by a resin. Over time, this resin can degrade, causing the small stones to become loose. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any D.I.Y. resin products that would effectively rebind the surface. You may need to reach out to a specialised company that deals with pebblecrete resurfacing to see if they can restore it.

If repairing it isn’t an option, you could consider removing the pebblecrete and replacing it with a different surface, such as pavers. Another option might be constructing a deck over the area to create a more comfortable and usable outdoor space.
