How to fix water ingress?

Hello All,

Need some expert advice on how to fix water ingress problem. I have a big water tank on to the side of the house and next to it a shed with roof inclined towards the tank. As shown.

When it rains the water is seeping in and created gap between the external wall and the concrete slab.

I was thinking of removing the tank, fill the gap created. Removing tank is a bit labor intensive I believe.
Any other ideas please.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

You're going to have to move the water tank to fix the issue, unfortunately, there's no avoiding that.

It's difficult to say the best method of filling the gap as we don't have a great view of it, but Sikaflex 11FC Purform to fill the gap and direct water away from the wall is a likely solution.

You should also consider moving or replacing the shed with one that directs water away from the house. At present it is discharging water towards the house which is certainly not ideal considering the water ingress issues you are having.

@JacobZ started to work on this. Cleared of the tank and the shed. Looks like the damage is more than expected. Attached photos for reference. I don't think just filling the gap will suffice, leveling might be needed. Your inputs are highly appreciated.

It appears that the concrete pad has settled and has gone lower. If you wish to have the slab pushed back up, I suggest engaging the services of a concrete lifting specialist. But if this slab does not impact the curb appeal of your house, it's also possible to leave it as is. If the gap is around 10mm to 15mm in size, I suggest inserting a Moroday 10mm x 5m White Gap Filler Rod into the gap about 5mm deep. You can then apply the Sikaflex 11FC Purform in the gap. The purpose of the filler rod is to prevent the Sikaflex from sinking too deeply into the gap.

My best advice is to build a proper base for your water tank a few meters away from your house if possible. It's best that it be independent of any of the walkways and residential slabs present.

Thank you @EricL for the info. I will not be using a tank anymore so will go with a simple fix.
