How to improve lawn with multiple types of grass?

lawn help please! My front lawn is a disgrace it seems to have three different kinds of lawn growing, a weedy buffalo type, and two seperate areas of fine leaf?couch. It’s a total nightmare and I just had to sell

and leave behind my lovely sir walter pride and joy, and can’t afford the best quote ive had so far is 4k to dig all this out and roll on some sir Walter. So wondering if I could seed something that would take over and be more uniform (without being as

aggressive as kikiyu)? Any advice for a budget way to get better looking lawn again much appreciated!

Seeding over the existing grass will likely just add another type of grass to the mix, potentially complicating the situation. To achieve a more uniform lawn, it's best to start by removing as much of the current grass and weeds as possible. You can do this manually or use a herbicide if you prefer a quicker solution, making sure to follow the instructions to avoid damaging the soil.

After removing the old grass, prepare the soil by levelling and loosening it. This will help the new grass establish itself better. When the weather starts to warm up, laying down Sir Walter Buffalo turf is a great option. Sir Walter Buffalo is robust and versatile, providing a more uniform look and handling wear and tear well. It's best to lay the turf in the warmer months to give it optimal conditions for establishing itself.

Ensure you keep the new turf well-watered during its establishment period. Although this method involves some upfront work, it will give you a clean slate and a more uniform lawn in the long run.
