Hi, just throwing a question if you can please help me? I just installed a hill folding clothesline post. Recommended depth is 500mm, however, I can't go deeper because I have a 100mm thick concrete that will be under the planned clothesline, which is 100mm higher than the natural ground where I want to bury the post. I only was able to bury it at 400mm. Will this hold the weight of the wet clothes or do I have to reinforce the clothesline post with something? Thanks.
Hello @jehpets
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your hills clothesline.
If I understand you correctly 100mm of the post is being held by the concrete of the driveway and 400mm of it is in the soil, please correct me if I'm wrong. Although it is not buried to the suggested 500mm depth it might be able to hold onto your wet clothes. I suggest testing it for a few washes and if the post starts to lean then it will be necessary to go deeper or relocate the clothesline in another spot where you can dig to the proper 500mm depth.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
