Hi all
I'm installing a colorbond fence on a concrete slab. I had a few 50x50 SHS posts with a 150x150 base plates prefabricated to dynabolt to a few key locations.
I'm looking for solutions to level under the base plates so the posts are square. The concrete isn't flat.
The solution needs to be thin, otherwise it will throw out the fence rails I.e. 25mm grout base is too thick.
Im thinking stainless steel shims. Stainless steel due to water ponding near base.
Perhaps a self leveling grout, if it can be applied thin and outdoors.
Thoughts on solutions?
Hello @BrightonBuilder
I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - How do I level fence posts anchored on to unlevel concrete by @tombullen. The general suggestion made was to use washers on the bolts to level the post true. But in a similar discussion we also suggested using Dunlop 20kg Construction Grout once the post was levelled. In this manner it would be supported not just with the bolts but with the construction grout as well.
