Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on how to paint the yellowy/cream bottom of this wishing well to look stone-like. I'm getting married in my grandparents backyard later in the year and my Nanna has mentioned that she'd love to see the wishing well painted to more closely match the freshly laid brick edging. My Nonno built the well a long time ago out of wood, but he's since passed so not around to offer advice anymore.
What would I need to buy to make this a reality? I've read somewhere that maybe chalk paint is a good start, but not sure if that's weather proof. At this stage I'm thinking that maybe I just paint it grey so the colour matches the bricks, then just highlight the joins with some darker grey?
I'm really not sure - all advice welcome.
Thank you!
Hello @MelBennett
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your questions about your wood wishing well.
I suggest looking at the Dulux Texture paint, it comes in several levels of thickness and can give the impression that the surface is rendered. The paint can be tinted to your preferred colour.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
