I recently bought a solar powered fountain, however I have realised that the solar panel will get more sun if mounted on my garden wall, which is brick. How would I go about doing that?
Solved! See most helpful response
Hi @SunnyZim87,
Without a photo of the back of the solar panel and the mounting arrangement I can only put together the info below.
Stay away from the actual bricks and drill holes in the mortar gap then insert the wall plugs and tap them in.
Align the mounting plate and secure with the supplied screws then slip on the solar panel.
Post some photos of the back of the panel as well photos of the bracket removed from the panel.
We can then provide more details...
Cheers
Thanks Alan,
What mounting plate would you use? I've attached the pictures as requested. Let me know if you need more angles.
Hi @SunnyZim87,
The panel provides two mounting options, stick it into the ground or mount on a wall.
Pull the stake out - not needed.
Use only two holes to secure the base mount as the 3rd hole will likely be on brick.
Clip on the panel and turn/tilt to face the sun.
Cheers
Thanks Alan! What size screw and wall plug would you use?
Hi @SunnyZim87,
Take the base mount to Bunnings and ask for help to select the right size plug/screw and masonry drill bit.
Cheers
It's great to see that @AlanM52 has already provided some helpful guidance @SunnyZim87.
I'd recommend you check out these STAHL Masonry kits. They provide the plugs, screws and appropriate masonry drill bit. They really take out the guesswork. As mentioned, take the bracket with you so you can get the appropriate kit, but I'd suggest something like the STAHL Masonry Kit 7mm Drill With 50mm Green Wall Plugs would suit.

That's why I always use desktop pc was looking for that on my phone.
Cheers
Thanks!
How would I stop the panel from falling off the mount? It clips on but not tightly and I'm worried it could slide off. Is there any way to make it more secure?
