I’m planning to repaint my eaves, the existing nail heads have rust coming through. (See photo)
Would love advise on the following.
1/ what’s the best way and product to seal/prime the existing signs of rust to prevent it coming through
2/ is any exterior paint suitable for eaves
Any advise is greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
Toni
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @tontonia. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about preventing rust stains.
You should start but sanding any rust off the head of the nail and then applying a rust converter to them. Then, apply two coats of a stain blocker such as Zinsser 1L White Bulls Eye Primer Undercoat Sealer And Stain Blocker over the nails heads. When dry you can use any exterior water-based paint such as Dulux Weathershield to paint your eaves.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
