Hi,
I am painting exterior bricks, what is the best way to fill mortar between the bricks, because if you do it with brush,it takes time, laborious job.
Any advise.
Thanks
Hello @Azhar
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about painting bricks.
If you wish to fill the gaps between the bricks, I suggest using Bastion 20kg Premix Mortar. I suggest using Bondall 1L BondCrete Cement Additive as a primer on the bricks mortar gap. My best advice is to make sure that the brick gap is clean and free of debris before putting the mortar in. I recommend using a Craftright 250mm Brick Trowel to mix and apply the mortar.

Hi @Azhar,
Let me also extend a very warm welcome to the community.
Unlike Eric, I'm assuming you don't actually want to fill the gaps between your bricks, just more easily paint the mortar. Is that correct?
If so, I would recommend you invest in a paint spray gun. It will make the job so much quicker and easier for you.
Please let us know if we can assist further.

Jason, you are exactly right, zi just want to paint mortar between bricks.
Should I need compressor as well, which one is cost effective kit.
Thanks for your reply.
Hello @Azhar
Thank you for the clarification in regards to painting your brick wall. Jason's advice is very sound in regards to using a sprayer. I propose looking at the Wagner Fence & Deck Paint Sprayer. It has a powerful 460-watt motor with HVLP technology (high volume low pressure) atomises paint under very low pressure (around 4 to 12 psi), providing a superior finish with reduced overspray. The large 1400ml pot means you can keep spraying for longer and the turbine has a shoulder strap & 1.8m hose for easy movability, whilst greatly reducing the weight & fatigue when spraying.
There is also the Wagner W350 Wood And Metal Paint Sprayer for small to medium projects. If your brick wall is not as extensive, this sprayer should suit your needs.
I also suggest having a look at this discussion - Fence rejuvenation by spray painting.
Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a paint rated mask when spraying your exterior bricks.

Three outside walls, I painted back wall, two walls are remaining.
Hi @Azhar,
For your two exterior walls, either of the options Eric has mentioned would be fantastic.
They will greatly speed up the process of painting your bricks and ensure paint gets into the mortar gaps efficiently. Just make sure you cover off anything that you don't want to spray with painter's tape and drop sheets.
Let me know what you think.
