How to rainproof patio in rental?

Hey guys,

I will be putting a pottery wheel and all my equipment outside on my patio. Im hoping to find a way to put something up that's relativey cheap to stop rain from getting everything wet, there will likely be too much stuff to just cover with a tarp or something and too annoying to do every time I use it. The space is 2480cm high and 3570 wide. I'm in a rental, so it can't need to be heavily attached to anything. A gazebo wouldn't really work either because there is no space for legs closest to the door, with this big shed in the way. Any ideas?? I was thinking of using some heavy plastic, but I don't know how to attach it. It doesn't really have to be easy to take down as there is a little side bit that you can walk out instead of the big section.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

We can offer solutions to help prevent rain from blowing in, but completely rainproofing a patio is not exactly easy, especially in a rental where you can't alter the structure.

You can potentially hang bistro blinds or tarps from the eave to prevent rain from blowing into the patio.

Attaching them to the eave without creating too much damage is the main problem we'll have to solve.

Can we get some photos looking back towards the patio? Especially where the patio ceiling ends. If we can utilise the eaves to attach things, this would be ideal.

Tarps fixed to the facia of the porch area then spring fitted tie-downs to pegs in to the ground would be the easiest option and the springs will elevate pressure on the tarps in strong winds and weather. But as @JacobZ mentioned you would need to get the ok from the landlord to fit the hooks to the facia or at the least make good on the area when you leave.

I am thinking along the lines of a bistro blind or tarp that has been mentioned. Tho will wait for a photo from the yard looking back as I am trying to figure a way out to attach either way so it wont blow about. Maybe a photo from the rear of the yard looking at the house and also the side, that way we might be able to figure a work around that dosnt involve damaging anything for a rental.
