Hello .wanting advice on best choice of product ,to fill old soft sandy motar.bolt holes that require reanchoring of new bolts ,for a metal outdoor gate .
Hello @Anniep2480
Thank you for sharing your question about what mortar to use when re-anchoring bolts. I suggest cleaning the old bolt holes by using a Ramset 20mm x 300mm Hole Cleaning Brush to remove any sand and debris that may have settled inside the old bolt hole. To re-anchor the gate bolts I propose using Earl's 1kg Concremate Expanding Cement. I suggest using a piping bag if you have one or a square sandwich bag and cut the corner to allow the cement to flow through. This will allow you to fill the hole with cement and push the bolt into place. Excess cement will come out, and I suggest wiping it clean with a plastic scraper.
Make sure to give the cement enough time to fully cure before re-installing the gate.
