Hello!
I have an existing slat fence screen that has seen better days and is starting to look a bit worn. I'm eager to bring it back to life to make it look new again if possible. Any guidance or advice will be greatly appreciated!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @beebot. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about refreshing screening.
I used a similar screening for several years. Typically, I'd replace it every four years or so as not only does it become grey, but you'll find in the next while, the wire connecting the pieces together will rust through, and the reeds start to disintegrate. The easiest and most cost-effective approach would be removing this screening and replacing it with some new EDEN 1.8 x 3m Euro Reed Screen Fencing. Although a bit more expensive, you'll get significantly more life from the EDEN 1.8 x 3m Natural Bamboo Screen Fencing, which I currently use.
I've never tried to rejuvenate the reed screen, but I suspect that some outdoor stain would likely work to freshen it up.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
