How to remove paint from exterior porcelain tiles?

Hi

There is water based paint smears (where it was attempted to be cleaned in water) and spots of fresh paint (messy painter!!) on my verandah porcelain tiles. Ive tried using my gerni pressure washer with some success and scrubbing with a brush etc but cant get it all off - any ideas appreciated - thanks! (the tiles are rock hard btw)

Re: How to remove paint from exterior porcelain tiles

Hi @martyjames,

Since you’ve already tried pressure washing and scrubbing, you've likely removed the majority of the paint that will be easy to remove. Unfortunately, it looks like the paint has soaked into the pores of the tiles so it could be tricky.

You could start by giving the surface a scrub with some Concrete And Stone Cleaner and a scrubbing brush, allowing it to sit for a while and then washing it off with your pressure cleaner.

You could also try giving it a scrub with some methylated spirits, ensuring you test it in an inconspicuous area before committing to its wider use. Let it sit briefly, then scrub with a brush or a non-scratch scouring pad. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and repeat if needed.

Give these options a try and see how it goes. We can look at more vigorous options if they don't work.
