Rust stains on pavers can be really tricky to remove. The problem is that rust typically penetrates quite deeply into the stone, so it’s not just sitting on the surface. Any chemical strong enough to neutralise the rust might itself discolour or stain the paver, so it’s a delicate balance.
It would be really helpful if you could upload a photo of the affected area so our members can get a better idea of the issue. I’m happy to guide you through the upload process if needed.
In most cases, you can try gentle methods first, like a poultice made from lemon juice or a specialised rust remover, but results can vary depending on the paver type and porosity. Sometimes, a combination of scrubbing and multiple treatments helps, but complete removal isn’t always possible.
