How to remove stains on pool pavers?

Due to a banana tree above our pool we now have sticky, red stains all over our new pool pavers. We have tried pressure hosing, sugar soap, mum goo and gumption and nothing is removing it. Hoping someone can suggest something that will remove them, please!

Thanks for sharing your question about removing banana leaf stains on your tiles. I propose using Glitz 2L Cleaning Vinegar. Vinegar helps remove banana leaf stains from tiles because it contains acetic acid, which is effective at breaking down organic compounds. Banana leaves can leave behind tannins and other plant pigments, which can bond to the surface of tiles. The acidity of vinegar weakens these pigments and dissolves them, making it easier to clean the stain.

For a safe and effective cleaning solution, I recommend a 1:3 ratio of vinegar to water. This dilution is gentle enough for most tile surfaces while still having enough acidity to break down banana leaf stains.

Here’s a simple recipe:

1-part vinegar
3 parts water.

Before you begin it's always a good idea to test the vinegar solution on a small, inconspicuous area first. You can apply the solution with a soft cloth or sponge, gently scrub the stained area, and rinse it thoroughly with clean water afterward. If you're concerned about more delicate finishes, try a 1:4 ratio (one part vinegar to four parts water) to reduce the acidity further. Always avoid prolonged exposure to the solution on any surface to prevent potential damage.

Please note that several applications may be necessary to break down the banana leaf tannins.
