Big tree limb came down in garden and smashed through a 100mm sewer pipe. I need to buy a length of pipe and a couple of sleeves to repair the smashed length. On the Bunnings site, I can find a 50mm straight sleeve for $2.50, but the only 100mm sleeves are 'DWV PVC Coupling Slip' for $14. Are they the same thing...is this what I want? And if so, why the price disparity? Will the blue cement work with 30yr old pipes?
(you wouldn't want me to upload an image)
Can you post some pictures?
Too much poop....I know what to do, it's just finding the right coupling for 100mm pipe.
Hello @ezzie
This is just a friendly reminder that any plumbing works must be carried out by a licensed plumber for safety and compliance.
Is the pipe made of PVC or is it earthenware? If it is plastic and you are confident that it is 100mm in diameter, then using the Deks 100mm PVC To PVC Rubber Joiner and the Holman Industries 100mm DWV PVC Coupling Slip are viable solutions to the break in your pipe work. The 50mm straight sleeve is small and is only 50mm in diameter and it's probable that it will not fit the pipe work. Material wise they are the same and the 100mm PVC coupler is designed to slip into 100mm PVC pipes. I propose visiting the store to give you a better idea of its size and weight.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks Eric, I just couldn't work out why the 1000mm would be x 7 times the price of the 50mm.
