Hello! I am trying to find a way to remove this door handle to make way for a smaller handle so we can get an flyscreen installed (sliding door). Does anyone have any insights as to how this can be removed? Doesn't seem to budge no matter what I do.. the little hole doesn't seem to be a hex head hole or anything. Many thanks in advance.
Hi @jackleungkh,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
If you are confident that these holes do not have a grub screw in them, then it is likely these are just cover caps that are pressure fit.
You can see that they have been siliconed in place, so you will have to start by cutting the silicone to break its hold, then rotating the caps off. You can use a utility knife to cut around the base of the cover. Make sure you wear gloves and long protective clothing to reduce the risk of any unnecessary lacerations.
Once the silicone has been cut, it is likely just a case of rotating and pulling the cap. If you still struggle, you can grab some multigrip pliers, put a few layers of painter's tape over the grip to help protect the finish, then grip and rotate the cover plate off.
Once the plate is off, there should be a screw on each end of the handle that you can remove.
Give this a go and if you have any issues, please don't hesitate to ask for further assistance.
