How to restore outdoor sensor light casing?

Hi there! We have or we had, outdoor sensor lights that had a nice black casing/exterior. They’re only 18 months old and have weathered significantly! There is nothing wrong with the actual light, it’s just the black covering/exterior that looks pretty terrible! I was wondering if anyone knew of any tips and tricks to restore the appearance of the casing/exterior?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your outdoor sensor light.

The paint cover appears to have either fallen off or faded to nothing. If it is a metal casing, I suggest sanding the body with 240grit sandpaper to remove any paint residue that may be left on its surface. Cover the brick with painters drop sheet and tape to prevent over spray from going on the brick. Once you finish sanding, wipe down the body with Selleys Sugar Soap Wall Cleaning Wipes - 25 Pack. Cover the clear lens of the lamp with masking tape to prevent spraying over it.

I recommend using the White Knight Rust Guard 300g Grey SLS Etch Primer Spray Paint to prime the surface of the lamp. I then suggest using White Knight Rust Guard 300g Monument Matt Quick Dry Touch Up Spray Paint as topcoat for the lamp. My best advice is to give each coat enough time to cure before applying the next coat.
