How to return a lawnmover?

I bought a Ryobi battery operated lawnmower a couple of months ago. When l purcjased it the Bunnings guy who reccommended it told me to try it out and if it wasn't suitable to bring it back for a refund. I have only recently started using it and am not happy with it. Can l return it (obviously having cleaned it) like the Bunnings worker said?

Your best bet is to take it back to a local bunnings store if it isnt fit for your purpose. If you dont get any joy you can get further support here take your receipt etc

I’m not sure if the original poster managed to get a refund, but I didn’t. I’m in the same situation: I bought a Ryobi lawn mower, but it’s not suitable for the job. When I tried to return it, they refused. Even it's still in the first 30 days.

Even after I showed them this post, they only agreed to let me exchange it for another Ryobi model. I said I would prefer a store credit so I could buy something else later. But the answer is no.

I contacted Bunnings customer service, I was told the refund should be possible, but they can’t force the store to do it. Then I contacted Ryobi customer service, and they told me just take it back to any Bunnings store.

I even searched online to see if others had similar experiences, and indeed, many did, but they were able to get a refund without any issues.

Why do the same brand and company have different standards for different customers? Who should I contact about this?

I’m in a similar situation – I bought a Ryobi lawn mower last month, but it’s not performing as per my expectations and used only once, and I’d like to return it and possibly buy a more powerful self-propelled model instead.

I visited the store this morning and spoke with a team member before bringing the mower in. He told me that they would accept the return, but I should clean and pack it first. I did so and brought the mower back to the store. However, another staff member immediately said they couldn’t accept the return because it had been used.

I then went back to the first team member, who inspected the mower and said he’d check with someone and get it sorted. While I was waiting at the exchange counter, another lady asked me to leave, saying they had already decided not to accept the return. I explained that one of the team members was still checking, but she kept announcing over the microphone that the return had been refused.

Eventually, the same team member returned and told me he couldn’t help because the manager had already made the decision.

I was left feeling completely helpless and confused about what was happening. I wasn’t even asking for a refund — I just wanted to exchange it for a more powerful self-propelled model.

As per the 30-day return policy, I still have two days left to return the product.

Please help me resolve this issue.
