Hi I am consodeirng filling / sealing the gap between the external masonry of my house wall and the paths surrounding the house mainly for aesthetics and to stop leaves etc getting stuck in there. You can see from the photos that the gap varies from 10 to 30mm in places. There are also parts where the edges of the concrete foundation has came away leaving chunks missing above where I intend to seal. I have purchased some foam backing rod and silka flex caulk.
Am i on the right track? Any advice appreciated?
Should I attempt to fill in the concrete that has came away before sealing or could this be done afterwards if even required?
Hello @Cathalm8
Thanks for sharing your question about sealing the gap in your house. Your idea of using foam backing rod and sika flex is an excellent plan. However, before you begin, I suggest doing a bit of repair work using Dingo 10kg Mortar Mix to fill in the damaged sections and reducing the size of very large gaps. Once the mortar cures, you can then begin using the backing rod and sika flex.
