What's the best way to reduce the condensation building up in this outdoor lamp?
The cover was wiped & dried before it was put back on but I wonder if there's an issue with the seal?
Hi @Else,
That condensation definitely suggests moisture is getting in somewhere it shouldn’t. When you installed the globe onto the pedestal, was there a rubber seal at the base? These outdoor lights typically rely on that rubber gasket to prevent humid air from entering the fixture and condensing on the inside of the cover. If that seal’s missing or perished, it could explain the issue.
I’d avoid using silicone to try and seal it, as that can make it really difficult to remove the cover later on when you need to change the globe.
Do you have any other similar lights that aren’t experiencing this issue? If so, it might be worth checking whether they have an intact seal in place for comparison.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
