Hello,
I'm building a deck and have compacted crushed rock and will be laying a paver for my tuffblocks to sit on. I am thinking of using mortar to help get the correct levels for the pavers/tuffblock. Is there a specific mortar that should be used for this, can anyone recommend one to use?
Thanks
Hi @JesseS6,
You don't need to use anything fancy. A standard mortar mix like this Bastion Mortar Mix or Dingo Mortar Mix would be perfectly fine.
Just mix it to a smooth, creamy consistency, but make sure it isn't too wet. You don't want it to slump off your trowel when lifted.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks @JacobZ , Is a fast set mortar OK to use?
Hi @JesseS6,
There'd be no issues using a fast-set mortar; you'd just have less workable time.
