The Oasis pool instalation

We wanted to make better use of our backyard & have lower garden maintenance (mowing & lawn maintenance)… After some brainstorming we decided to go for ‘The Oasis’ option. Inground pool,Spa Tub, Fully concreted,Fully Tiled, Access Steps, Outdoor S/S Shower, Openings over both the pool & spa Trueline Roof structure c/w remote controlled aluminium louvres (rain sensitive) Pool Compliant Rendered block Pillars c/w Matt Black Powder Coated Vertical Blade Aluminium welded Louvers (fixed at 45 Degrees for breeze & Privacy)…The pool is heated (29 degrees) & the spa is a comfortable 36 degrees. Both get used daily. The Oasis is a valuable addition to our 4 bedroom house on the hill overlooking Keppel Bay in Yeppoon.

Steps

Step 1

Firstly we had to relocate sewage & storm water drainage pipes to allow the pool & spa to proceed. Then excavation of all grass & the hole for the pool was a challenge. Leisure Pools Yeppoon were standout professionals & Mark had to excavate deeper than expected due to discovering an old fire pit of ash. Mark took control, got rid of the mess , quickly backfilled with no fines concrete & professionally installed the pool. Access via our neighbours driveway is steep so the whole operation was potentially damn dangerous…!

I have the utmost respect & admiration for the Leisure Pools crew of Mark, Candice, & Taigh Thompson…If you have a big job to do ask a busy person…!…Why…?…Cause the rest don’t have time…!

Step 2

Next step was sourcing a qualified concreter, block layer, Tiler & Renderer. We chose a chippie Don as our Project Manager …This position is the key to a successful project as organising trades people is a bit like mustering crocodiles (or cats)

Step 3

Brendan our tiler is an absolute perfectionist & a pleasure to work with & watch him in action. Toby & Dom our concretors know their stuff & Dom’s skills with steps is another field again. Trueline have been very thorough to date & we like their business model & attention to detail. Tony is a pleasure to work with & he is a standout & conscience solid great person to work with.

Lee & Mitch our blockies bent over backwards to get the job done. Cameron our renderer is nothing short of excellent to work with…Nothing seems to be too much trouble for him & we just can’t say enough nice things about him…!

Step 4

We are still waiting for Luke from J Barns & Son to make & fit the aluminium vertical blade louvres for the pool fence, but he has been very meticulous to date. We simply can’t wait to see his pool compliant fence completed (The black windows on white rendered block pillars should pop out & look outstanding)

Step 5

Champagne Time…!

2 Bottles of wine for Brad & Ainslie (our beautiful patient neighbours for allowing us use of their driveway/easement.

Oasis Time to smell the roses…

We’ve both enjoyed the journey.

Bunnings in Yeppoon is absolute pleasure to do business with (The staff are all very friendly & helpful…! … Their business model is nothing short of excellent & the staff (to every single person is nothing short of amazing & outstanding)…!
