What adhesive for driveway pavers?

Hey there,

looking for some advice on the most cost effective adhesive to use for sticking down 20mm porcelain pavers to a concrete paving base.

the driveway is already smooth so doesnt need any screed, but I only have 5mm of play to reach the garage level.

the driveway is not covered, and the pavers are 100mm square which will Be layed in a brick pattern.

would something like this be suitable? The area is roughly 7x5m

dunlop-20kg-rubber-modified-tile-adhesive

thanks in advance!

Pete

Re: Adhesive for Driveway pavers/tiles

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @vote4pedro. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about adhesives.

It would be best to check with the manufacturer of the pavers to determine the most appropriate adhesive. If these are our pavers I'd be happy to do that for you.

Using our Tuscan Path porcelain pavers as an example, when glueing the tiles down to a solid substrate like a concrete slab, you would first prime the surface with Dunlop 1L Multipurpose Water Based Primer and then apply your Dunlop 20kg Trade Resaflex.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the quick response Mitchell !

yes the pavers are very similar to those you have linked.

will pick up the primer for sure, is there much difference between the “Resaflex” and “Dunlop 20kg Rubber Modified Tile Adhesive” ?

thanks again

Happy Easter!

Re: Adhesive for Driveway pavers/tiles

Hello @vote4pedro

The Dunlop 20kg Trade Resaflex has a larger coverage by one meter, but Dunlop 20kg Rubber Modified Tile Adhesive contains recycled rubber. The Rubber modified adhesive is a little bit less than the cost of the Resaflex.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
