I'm looking at buying this cubby house for my daughters birthday but would love some advise on some extras that we would like to add:
1. The cubby house doesn't come with a floor/base so was just wondering what would be the best solution for this? We are looking at sitting it on our grass. (We would prefer to sit it straight on the ground rather than putting the whole cubby/side bits on a decking of some sort - but if that's our only option that's also fine).
2. We were thinking of enclosing the cubby house so the items inside won't get wet when it rains. Do you have any advice on adding windows/covers to the openings to ensure water can't get in? (Again, preferably something that my girls can still open up and let fresh air into but then close and lock almost when it's wet outside).
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello @brookerameka
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your cubby house.
I propose looking at the Swing Slide Climb 1 x 1m Grey Rubber Play Paver as flooring for your cubby house. I recommend using two rubber pavers to include the outside seat as well. If you have tools and are a bit handy, I suggest using plywood to create window covers to fit the window openings. These plywood panels will be light enough for your children to open.
Another option is to use 60 x 210cm White Basic Indoor Roller Blind. They are for indoor use only so will not last very long outdoors when exposed to extreme weather. But to give them a bit of protection I suggest spraying the surface with Selleys 200g Watershield Silicone Aerosol so that it repels moisture.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
