Hello,
What would you recommend as flooring option for a tiled patio which will be enclosed on all sides?
are Hybrid Vinyl Planks an option?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mknandagopal. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about flooring.
While hybrid vinyl planks are a popular choice for indoor spaces, manufacturers typically don’t recommend them for enclosed outdoor or alfresco areas. The main concern is that these spaces, even when enclosed, often aren’t sealed to the same standard as internal rooms. Water can still enter—whether through wind-driven rain, gaps, or condensation—and get underneath the flooring. Because hybrid planks require expansion gaps around the perimeter, these gaps can act as entry points for moisture, which may cause the planks to swell or distort over time.
From your image, it looks like the area is already tiled. Have you considered something like Dekart decking tiles? These can be laid directly over the existing tiles, are designed for outdoor conditions, and allow for drainage underneath—making them a practical and attractive option for spaces like yours.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
