What grout for crazy paving?

What grout for crazy paving?

We are doing a crazy pave in our outdoor area. We are looking for a wide joint grout in an off white or light grey. So far all the products we have seen have to be shipped in. Is there anything else we can use that we can access easily from bunnings? Our issue is we don’t really know how much we will need.

Thanks!

Re: What grout for crazy paving?

Hello @becxy05,

Thanks for your question on laying crazy paving. Our resident expert @EricL should be able to provide you with some grout suggestions once he's back online later this afternoon. Also tagging @ProjectPete and @Jimi to see if they have any thoughts.

In the meantime, have a look at this related discussion in case it helps: What product do I use to re-point/re-grout bluestone crazy-pave around a pool?

You might also want to check out this guide on How to lay crazy paving for related tips.

Hope this is useful. Look forward to seeing the final result once the project is completed.

Re: What grout for crazy paving?

Hello @becxy05

Thank you for posting your current progress on your crazy paving project. Unfortunately, the smaller bags of grout have a maximum gap coverage of 8mm anything bigger and you'll need to use Dunlop Wide Joint Grout. This grout has a gap coverage of 5mm up to 50mm and is ideal for this kind of project. I'm sorry but this will need to be ordered at the special orders desk. Please make sure to tell the special orders team that you want the light grey colour as this item also comes in a neutral finish.

Depending on the size of the area and thickness you'll need to apply a 15kg bag will cover an area of 28 sqm. So if for example, your floor area is 4 x 4 meters that equates to an area of 16 sqm. One bag will be more than enough to cover the area. My best suggestion for this project is to mix only the grout you'll be needing so that you won't waste the grout.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: What grout for crazy paving?

Thanks Eric,

when we went to Bunnings they said they couldn’t order this product for us. We have found somewhere, but unfortunately it couldn’t be bunnings, but had to order online.
thanks,

Bec
