Looking for advice on the most appropriate latch and lock for our front (street) gate, that we'd lock at night, and is preferably keyless. Does such a solution exist?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your front gate.
In order to give our members a better idea of your gate's configuration, would it be possible for you to post a photo of both the inside and outside of the gate. We can then make recommendations on possible locking systems.
I also suggest having a quick look at this discussion - Choosing a latch and lock for side-gate - and how to mount it by @carpedion. It's a good example of how you can add a bit of security to your gate.
