We have a retaining wall that we would like to put a treated pine capping on. My original thought was to just use 200 x 50 treated pine sleepers but my wife thinks that these will look to big. What have others used, and how did you attach it?
As the wall is already built and grass has been installed there is no real access from behind.
Hi @tobyandtamsyn,
Could you cut some sleepers down the middle and create a 100 x 50mm capping? That would be more aesthetically pleasing if you're after something more minimalistic. Attachment could be done with brackets from beneath or landscape screws through the top into the thickness of the wall.

We ended up using 150 x 38 treated pine plinths. As these come in 5.4m lengths, it allowed us to run full lengths for most parts. Applied a bit of liquid nails and batten screwed through the top. We are happy with the look and we will see how it holds up over time.
