Hi Bunnings Team and wonderful community,
I have installed the Bunnings sir Walter’s buffalo grass turf couple of days ago. Some of the grass turfs were green however some were brown at the time of purchase.
the roots of the brown grass are white and not able to easily tear however I am concerned whether I have purchased dead turf patches. Please advise if the grass would be green in couple of weeks and does Bunnings sell brown patched buffalo turfs (which might be expected and normal)?.
Hi Mitchell, I cleared the lawn, loosen it with rake, put in the underlay soil and starter fertiliser from bunnings. I watered it very generously right after installation and had been watering it a lot twice a day. I remember the grass parts were thin and and dry when I installed them but they were still green so I thought it should be okay and perk up. The past few days, there were two days where it rained as well. I followed all guidance on the soil prep thus I am very disappointed that the turf I got was of unacceptable quality.
If the turf you purchased wasn’t in healthy condition @ronn, the best first step is to contact the store where you bought it and explain the issue. Providing any photos you took when you first laid the lawn will help them assess the situation more quickly. The store manager should be able to guide you on the next steps, whether that’s an exchange or some other resolution.
Mitchell
