Possibilities are endless when renovating a caravan. You can transform an old van to a modern portable home, add more storage, or even refurbish it for a backyard home office.

 

As our creative Bunnings Workshop community members often illustrate, there is a lot you can do to make your caravan more functional and stylish without spending huge amounts of money.

1. 1978 Millard caravan renovation by @FloTheCaravan 

Transforming an empty shell to a fully furnished caravan that sleeps four, creative Workshop member Karen added elements like a full sized single bed with storage.

2. Viscount caravan converted into mobile office by @Peggers 

 

A business on wheels. Experienced Bunnings Workshop member Rob refitted this Viscount caravan as a mobile office. It includes a customised kitchen, new lights and blinds, dark wood and wallpaper features.

3. 1970s Millard caravan renovation by @Peggers 

Inspired by the beat generation classic On the Road by Jack Kerouac, Rob cleverly renovated this 1970s Millard caravan from scratch with a distinctive Penguin Classics book theme.

4. 1986 Jayco caravan renovation by @applesauce 

Featuring a gas lift bed for storage, a laptop power station and air conditioning, this caravan renovation matches class with functionality.

5. Viscount caravan renovation by @Peggers 

 

A window box and a bright, beautiful paint job were highlights of this Viscount caravan renovation.

6. 1972 York caravan renovation by @twocutekelpies 


While restoring her rusty 1972 York caravan into a beautiful mobile home, Shelley rebuilt the chassis, installed new flooring and added a hinged slat double bed. Each cupboard also features a different theme from 1972 newspapers.

7. Franklin caravan renovation by @Peggers 


In another makeover popular with the Bunnings Workshop community, Rob installed new floors and blinds, replacement kitchen and fold-out distressed timber table.

8. 1971 Millard caravan renovation by @Peggers 

 

Rob breathed new life into "Minty" over three months. Renovation work on the classic 1971 Millard caravan included a new kitchen, flooring, tiling, blinds and painting inside and out.

9. 1973 Millard caravan renovation by @Peggers 


In another popular retro caravan project, Rob laid a new floor and installed a new kitchen, which included an oven, a hot plate and sink splashback. "Milly's" interior was also completely redecorated using timber and a white and gold colour scheme.

10. The Boogie Wonder van by @Peggers 


Talk about a groovy ride. Rob gave this caravan a distinctly 70s retro feel, complete with matching accessories and a funky colour scheme.
