Can you make tinted paint lighter?

I have purchased a dulux paint for timber and tinted in the 137 tuscan sunset. However the colour was a lot darker than I expected it. I was wondering what I can do to make it lighter. Can they help me if I take it back or is there any hack I can do to make it lighter?

I suggest bringing the Dulux paint back to the store and speaking to the senior paint specialist. I recommend looking at the colour chart where you located 137 Tuscan Sunset and picking out a colour next to it that is lighter. I propose discussing your options with the senior paint specialist and asking them if it is still possible to fix the tint of the paint.

Light plays a major role in how we see paint inside our house. It is also important to consider the location of where the paint was applied. Was it in a hallway? An interior wall away from the windows? A corner of the house. All of these affect the final outcome of the paint colour. Remember that in the store you are surrounded by bright lights and it does not represent the lighting conditions in your home.

Look closely at the colour on your wall in the morning when the sun is entering your home. It will take a different hue at 12 noon when the sun is at its peak. It will then totally change when you turn on your house lights in the evening. Items surrounding your wall also lend their hues to that colour. A dark floor or dark furniture will reflect the dark tones on the wall.
