Hello, I'm making a custom Monopoly board. I bought the regular Monopoly board game and used sticker paper to print the individual property tiles and stick them to the board. I've also printed out Community Chest and Chance cards and stuck them to the back of the original cards.
If someone were to drag their thumb across the sticker paper, it would smudge the ink on it. What can I use (such as varnish spray) for the board in order to protect it? For the cards, I can use contact paper. But the board is too big for contact paper. I'm not sure if varnish will damage either the board or the sticker paper. Please let me know. ![]()
Hello @Amy7
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about sealing your board game.
I propose looking at using Boyle 400g Clear Gloss Spray Sealer. It is a high quality, non-yellowing clear sealer. Use to apply a clear glaze to folk art painting, petal porcelain, decoupage, artificial and dried flowers, layouts, watercolours, instant lettering, gouache decals, artwork, photographs and more. This sealer also comes in a matt finish so please choose carefully.
Let me call on our experienced members @lifestylebymari and @prettyliving for their recommendations.
