Specrite 2400 x 900 x 33mm Timber Multi Use Pine Panel
12mm dowel
Masking tape
Track saw
M10 carriage bolts
Stud finder
Level
Ryobi 18V drill
Design in Sketchup. The stud positions are marked.
Test the mounting design, using 12mm timber dowels. Tried a prototype in the garage, with a bag of concrete. Only minimal deflection.
Cut the shelf panels, drill holes and glue dowels and put finish on the boards.
Measure everything and mark with tape and double check. Pre drill holes through the chip rock into the studs. Screw in floating shelf mounts and at the end, slide the shelfs in.
Finishing up and triing to fins s[pace for everything. I really enjoyed the process, and it turned out great.
Hello @volkerku
This custom wraparound floating shelf is a smart and stylish addition to your home office. Thoughtfully designed to suit the dimensions and layout of the corner space, it offers both function and visual cohesion. The use of pine panelling introduces a warm, natural texture that complements the room’s tone beautifully.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful project.
