Re: how do I make a palavelli stand for festival

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Koushika. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a Palavelli stand.

To make a simple Palavelli stand like the one shown, start by creating the grid base. Cut timber strips to your desired lengths, eight pieces of the same size. Arrange them into a grid pattern and fix them together with wood glue at each intersection, adding small nails or screws for extra strength if desired. Allow the glue to dry completely.

Next, prepare the legs by cutting each wooden dowel down to size and attaching each to the centre of a timber block, which can be made from cut sections of 89 x 19mm 1.2m DAR Pine Standard. Pre-drill holes in both the block and the end of the leg to prevent splitting, then screw them together securely. Once all four legs are ready, position each block with its attached leg at the corners of the grid. Apply wood glue to the top of each block, press it firmly under the grid, and secure it with screws driven through the grid frame into the blocks. Finish by sanding any rough edges, and if you prefer, paint or varnish the stand to suit your needs.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
