Hi all, I have aluminum sliding doors and the tracks fill up with water whenever it rains. There are weep holes in track, however they have been covered over by the track of the flyscreen which looks like it has been fitted at a later date. What is the solution to this? Should i add weep holes to the flyscreen track that line up with the door track weep holes?
Hello @gmlittle_01
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your questions about your aluminium sliding doors.
Your proposed solution sounds like the way to go. With the drain holes lined up any water in the channel should drain out. I would even be tempted to recommend adding extra drain holes along the channel to make sure that water drains out regardless of the position of the doors.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Good Evening @gmlittle_01
Yeah I would also be considering the added weep holes as @EricL has suggested as well, tho maybe post a few pics of the track and mark where you are going to drill them before, just in case
I would have thought that the added flyscreen trrack should have some kind of weep holes in it already, I know my track gets gummed up with dirt and debris from my trees very easily. It may be worth lifting the screen out and checking to see if all the weep holes are clear.

Hi @gmlittle_01
I agree with both yourself and @EricL and wouldn't add any more holes. Just clean out the existing as they should be ample enough to drain the water.
But just in case a few pics @Dave-1 suggested might help confirm.

Hi all
Thanks for the feedback. So the only weep holes are in the door track and under the fixed window pains on either side. The flyscreen track is installed in front of these weep holes and there are no weep holes in the flyscreen track therefore all the weep holes are blocked. Ive attached some photos.
Bit hard to see but this shows the weep hole on the inside.
This is the flyscreen track covering the holes on the outside.
This shows the outside where the flyscreen track isn't in front of the weep holes
Hello @gmlittle_01
Thank you for sharing those photos of your door tracks. Can I please ask you to post a photo of the entire track so that we can see how your window is arranged. Please make sure that we can see the channels as it will give us a better idea which tracks are fully occupied and which weep holes are blocked. We can then make suggestions where you can place new weep holes for the tracks.
