How to add sheer curtains to vertical blind bracket?

Hi all. I'm looking for advice. My rental has vertical blinds and I want to add sheers. I noticed that the existing hardware has this track a the front. The track is metal, 2.5 tall with a 3mm lip on the top and bottom. I have no idea what it's called or typically used for but I'm thinking it might fit clips or a pole bracket.

What can I buy that will fit in that groove and let me add sheers?

I'm currently unaware of a bracket that is small enough to be attached to your vertical blinds rail and hold a pole along with your sheer curtains. Since you are willing to spend for the pole and sheer curtains, I suggest speaking to your property manager or homeowner and making a proposal about installing sheer curtains but attaching them to the wall instead. Since it is a plus for the homeowners, there is a good possibility that they will agree.

Most people use a Nono bracket outside mounted blinds curtain rod bracket which doesnt sit in the track but over the top of the vertical blind track. Wynstan do make a vertical drapes pelment bracket which should clip into the track and give you a ledge. Or if you're practical reversing a vertical blind snap in L bracket might be worth looking at. Just some suggestions to google. JDE

I havnt noticed that curled edge before 🙂 Nice spotting for sure. The suggestions about contacting the owners and installing a rail outside this is also the way I would go, I would also possibly wander through Ikea and have a squiz at their systems.

Im never really confident of the attachment points for venetians but they must be solid to take the stress of the weight, adding to the overall weight by hanging something off the side is why I am going for a seperate rail.

I regularly repair/refit blinds and unfortunately there is no shared fitment between what you have and the hangover to sheers. If it's any consultation, if there was, the cost savings would be probably negative. The best and easiest solution is to simply replace what you have. I find Dollar Curtains to be a very affordable custom curtain and blind supplier.
