I am looking for the correct screw recommendation to fix 1.6bmt Powder coated Aluminium Angle direct to 6mm FC Sheeting.
The Aluminium is non load bearing, and purely for aesthetics. I am thinking screw and glue with a construction adhesive.
Can you please advise a suitable screw.
My thought would be pilot hole the Aluminium, then screw to FC.
Am worried about reactions between Powdercoat and screw, and of coarse the hold to the FC.
Any help appreciated.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @harrishouse0164. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about attaching aluminium angle to cement sheeting.
Could you tell us if there is anything behind the FC sheeting that could be damaged from a screw that penetrates too far, or will they be concealed? What colour is the powder coating on the angle?
If the angle's mating surface is scuffed up with 60-grit sandpaper, Liquid Nails will do a decent job of holding it in position by itself. I don't think you'd need much more than a few small stainless steel countersunk screws to hold it in position. Stainless steel is the least likely to react with aluminium.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
