Hi Team,
The screw of the door stopper is no longer holding on to the wood. I thought of a broader screw but stopper wouldn't allow any broader width screw. Any suggestions on how to get this thing working again, thanks in advance!
Hi @khatriy,
Do you have any photos of the hole where the stopper is no longer grabbing?
You can usually fill a hole with some toothpicks or timber dowels with a bit of pva glue on them, then snap or cut them off so they are flush with the frame.
Once they have dried, drill a small pilot hole, then drive the screw back into the new timber. Adding this new timber will give the screw something to bite into.
Alternatively, a much longer screw could be used. As a door jamb needs to have timber framing behind it, you could grab a longer screw, maybe something 50mm long, then drive it up into the framing behind the door jamb. As long as it bites into the solid timber behind, it will hold strong.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi @JacobZ : Can I use some wood glue such as this Gorilla Wood Glue. instead of PVA glue? This has also been suggested by you on one of my other posts https://www.workshop.bunnings.com.au/t5/Whole-of-House/How-to-repair-bar-stool/m-p/302488#M28140
Hi @khatriy,
PVA glue and wood glue are the same thing, which have been given different names for marketing purposes. PVA stands for polyvinyl acetate, which you'll see in the Gorilla Wood Glue Safety Data Sheet, is exactly what Gorilla Wood Glue is.
Yes, you can use the Gorilla Wood Glue. There is no need to buy different products for this and the repair on your bar stool.
