I thought I'd put up some photos and brief instructions to help you make a sturdy blackboard/ painting easel.
Here's what you'll need:
3 x 100mm x 1.8m fence palings. (for $8-$10 more you could use dressed pine.)
600mm x 1200mm plywood.
31mm x 11mm pine
2 x 85mm hinges.
Thin rope or pull start cord.
25mm wood screws.
16mm wood screws.
Liquid nails or wood glue.
Blackboard paint.
