How to paint interior walls of a new build?

Hi,

I am looking for guidance and materials required to paint the internal walls of my new build. I am looking for a the usual white color. Any marks on the wall (after painting) should be washable with water. Please guide me.

Re: Painting interior walls of a new build

Hi @sujoy_kb,

To get started, you’ll need a few basics such as painter’s tapedrop sheets, a roller with extension polepaint traybrushes for cutting in, and of course, an interior wall paint. Since you’d like something that’s easy to keep clean, I’d recommend going with Dulux Wash & Wear in your preferred white. It’s designed to be highly washable, so you can wipe down marks with just water without damaging the finish.

The process is fairly straightforward: prepare the walls first by filling any gaps, sanding lightly, and wiping away dust. Then cut in around the edges with a brush, and use a roller for the larger areas, working in sections. Apply at least two coats for the best result.

We’ve got handy guides including How to prepare a wall for painting, How to paint a room, and How to paint like a professional, which will step you through the process in more detail.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
