I am updating an old house - the light switches are being moved from the architraves

do you have a good product to fill it - the trim will then be painted white

Re: patch for wooden architrave?

Hi @tsne5872,

You can fill those holes with Builders Bog, which is a two-part filler that sets very strong and is ideal for this kind of repair. Once it's applied and the holes are fully filled, just sand it back flush with the rest of the architrave. After sanding, apply a primer to seal the area before painting.

Keep in mind that since the surrounding architrave has a varnished glossy finish, you’ll need to scuff it up first using 240-grit sandpaper to remove the gloss. Then use a suitable primer like Dulux Precision Max Adhesion Primer before applying your water-based enamel topcoat. This will help ensure a good bond and a long-lasting finish.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
