How can I remove home windows strong film? What the best material I can use it
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, @Hosam. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing window film.
Could you provide a little more detail about the type of film you’re wanting to remove? For example, is it a standard tinting film applied to clear glass windows that you’d now like to strip off, or is it a different type of protective or decorative film?
If it is tinting film, the most common method is to soften the adhesive with heat (a hair dryer on low setting works well), then carefully peel the film back from a corner. Any leftover adhesive can be cleaned off with a scraper and a solvent such as methylated spirits or soapy water. Sometimes, spraying the film with soapy water and covering it with a plastic bag for an hour helps loosen the glue before peeling.
Just a quick safety reminder: whenever you’re working around glass, there’s always a risk of it shattering unexpectedly. Please wear safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, a long-sleeve shirt, trousers, and enclosed footwear while you work. And if you’re unsure or find the film particularly stubborn, it may be best to reach out to a professional who specialises in removing window films.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
