How to replace a screw that has pulled out?

I have a reasonably heavy door that was attached to some brick work using some heavy duty screws.  the top screws have pulled out and left a hole too big to screw them back in.  Is there a way to fill these holes I can drive the screws into again.

Should I drill out a larger area and fill that so I'm not just drilling into whatever I have used to fill the hole?

Hello @gunnah

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's magnificent to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your door pulling out.

Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the door and where the hinge used to be attached? Can we also please have a picture of the screw that was used to fix the hinge in place? This will give our members a chance to assess the condition of the brickwork. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.

If you need a hand posting the photos, please let me know.

Eric

Hi @gunnah

Others have heard this  use bamboo skewers from  supermarket push them in hole break them of level with hole. Fill the hole  with any long wood splinters  like matches hard sticks.

You can  use more commercial plugs like rawl  plugs different sizes and othe fixings

Please Dont drill it out more.
