How to replace downlights with no ceiling space?

i have the old like brass downlights my wife wants the white ones is it possible there is no space in the ceiling for plugs

To know for sure whether your brass downlights can be swapped for white ones, you’d need a bit more detail about the ceiling and wiring setup. An electrician is the best person to check for access issues or any restrictions in the ceiling space.

 

Generally speaking, if the existing brass downlights were installed properly, they should be replaceable with a different style or colour. The main thing is the depth of the ceiling and the size of the new fittings, but there’s no inherent reason why white downlights couldn’t be installed. Running it past an electrician will give you certainty and ensure the swap is done safely.
