How to replace the screen on a heritage style security door?

Hi, we have a heritage style security door and I wanted to just replace the screen.

It appears it slots into this black part but with great difficulty. Could I replace the entire black part instead? Is there an easy way to do this? Trying to avoid replacing the whole door as it's really expensive.
